It's hard to imagine Christmas without sipping a hot drink, nibbling on some ginger biscuits and relaxing in front of a fireplace surrounded by Christmas wreaths.
And what is the Christmas drink par excellence? The mulled wine !

But what is this mulled wine?

Mulled wine, unlike what many people think, is a drink that originated in Ancient Rome, and was made up of wine, honey and saffron.
In the Middle Ages, however, a similar mixture was prepared, i.e. hippocras , also based on wine and spices.

INGREDIENTS: in variable portions, cinnamon, apple, rose hips, juniper berries, orange peel.

Preparation of the herbal tea preparation for mulled wine

Take 200 ml of water, put it in a saucepan and boil it at 100° and turn off the heat source, take 1 teaspoon of herbal tea, put it in the boiling water, close the saucepan with a lid and leave to infuse for 8 minutes, then filter it with a strainer into a cup.

To best enjoy the atmosphere that this drink gives off, you can accompany it with biscuits or a slice of cake.
