What is pollen?
Pollen is one of the richest substances existing in Nature and is considered by many to be the perfect food.
According to some research, it would appear that each pollen grain is a biological unit that contains all the properties needed to live.
What is pollen made of?
20% of our pollen, entirely of Trentino origin, is composed of proteins , from 12 to 20% of water , approximately 5% in variable lipid (fat) content : most of the lipids are essential fatty acids, alpha-linoleic (omega 3), linoleic (omega 6), monounsaturated and saturated.
It also contains:
- Mineral salts essential for the balance of our organism such as potassium, silicon, iron, magnesium, sulphur , chlorine, calcium, manganese, phosphorus, copper;
- A large number of vitamins especially of the B group (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B7, B8, B9, B9, B12) in addition to vitamins A, C, D, E, K, PP;
- Enzymes, coenzymes, growth hormones (estrogens, androgens, acetylcholine and other substances with antibiotic activity);
- pigments such as carotenoids, anthocyanins, etc.
Pollen is not a product transformed by bees, but is only collected by them on flowers and they use it as raw material for the production of royal jelly.
The use of pollen is recommended for those who carry out physical and sporting activities.
